Partnos by Voxel is now part of an international company group, next to DevoluIVA, Taxecure and the platform baVel.

Partnos by Voxel, led by Adrian Perreau de Pinninck, is an Agile consultancy that wants to help companies and institutions to be more efficient and, consequently, happier. To do so, they encourage organisational transformations in participatory environments that are constantly changing, creating trusting relationships to collaborate with transparency, commitment and autonomy in favour of a permanently active transversal improvement. The final purpose of Partnos by Voxel is to cultivate healthy organisations.

Perreau has been a consultant since 2012. Doctor in Artificial Intelligence and Certified Scrum Trainer by the Scrum Alliance, he is qualified with the Management Development Program in IESE. Nowadays, he is a professor at the Ramon Llull University and will be a professor at ESADE in 2020. He is a regular speaker and facilitator at international conferences. He has coach and train start-ups and companies of the Fortune 500 list, in sectors such as telecommunication, advertisement, automobile industry, tourism, aerospace industry, chemistry and banking. Its speciality is innovative companies that are experiencing strong growth.

The new company is set up after the organisation transformation of Voxel Group during the last two years, let by Adrian Perreau. The group decided to transform following three objectives: reduce the time to market to release products, be able to scale the business tenfold in the following 5 years and define a solid and organisational model for the company. With this change, Voxel has Agile, multidisciplinary and collaborative teams that have improved the time to market by 10%, even though they invest 20% of the time to the transformation process.

New company’s objectives

With Partnos by Voxel in its portfolio, Voxel wants to help other companies go through the transformation process, in line with its final purpose of creating a happy, honest, high-performing and healthy business network.

One of the first objectives of the new company are to model the organisational transformation of Voxel, and in order to do it, they have hired Xavier Albaladejo, an Agile-Lean transformation expert, and Director of the Master in Agile Methods of La Salle. He has experience in companies such as Mango, Axa, Vodafone R&D, Zurich and eDreams.

In Àngel Garrido’s words, CEO at Voxel Group: “with Partnos by Voxel we want to build a specialised team to help other companies that want to make a complete change in their organisation to streamline their processes and efficiencies, such as Voxel two years ago. Encouraging happy, healthy and high-performance organisations are one of our main objectives as a corporate group”.

Partnos by Voxel also offers training courses to companies and individuals that want to obtain the Scrum Alliance official certification in Advanced Scrum Master (A-CSM), Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Certified Agile Leadership (CAL); and other courses such as Agile Scaling, Kanban & Lean Thinking, Sociocracia 3.0 or Design Thinking.

The Agile Community will be introduced to Partnos by Voxel during the Conference Agile Spain (CAS) 2019, held next 22^nd and 23^rd of November in Barcelona. With more than 1.000 attendees, the CAS is the reference event about Agility.

Last weekend, October 5 and 6, Voxel attended the Software Crafters Barcelona, an annual event to attract and connect software development professionals who share the values and principles of the Crafters’ movement, as one of the Gold Sponsors. 

During the event, Voxel raffled limited spots for a workshop and a meetup with the expert in code Michael Feathers, founder and Director of R7K Research & Conveyance and author

of the book Working Effectively with Legacy Code. The winners had the chance to participate in an internal workshop at Voxel’s headquarters where Michael Feathers shared his knowledge about recovery and replacement of legacy code. 

The attendees could not only learn from one of the world’s mentors in code, but also they had the opportunity to attend a meetup with Heidi Helfand, Director of Engineering Excellence at Procore Technologies, a construction management software company, and author of the book “Dynamic Reteaming: The Art and Wisdom of Changing Teams”. 

During the Software Crafters,  apart from participating in different talks and workshops, Pedro Santos, collaborator trainer at Voxel, facilitated a workshop called “The architecture game”, where attends could design an e-commerce solution using gamification. And, Vicenç García Altés, Technical Coach at Voxel, presented the talk “Why Serverless?”, where they discussed the Serverless technology and its application to business. 

On the other hand, the meetup “Learn how to code and make architecture simpler with Michael Feathers” was held on Mediapro Barcelona where Feathers talked about unconditional code. During the talk, Feathers presented a conceptual framework for dealing with errors, conditionality and decision making at the level of code, architecture and user interface. The expert on code showed how changing the design and revisiting requirements, they can mitigate errors and build simpler and more robust architectures. This event had the support of Nutanix, experts in software-defined enterprise cloud.

Albaladejo, former Enterprise Agile Coach at Mango, joins Voxel’s team as the Executive Transformation Coach. His aim is to consolidate the organizational transformation of the company, a process based on Agile methodologies and Sociocracy 3.0 which is being currently used in technical and product teams and is expanding to the rest of the group’s teams. At the same time, Albaladejo will also model the organizational transformation of Voxel to inspire and accompany other enterprises who want to start their transformation process.

Voxel has been working in the internal transformation process for more than 3 years. It started with a cultural transformation establishing corporate values, followed by an organizational change adopting Agile methodologies, Scaling Up and Sociocratic 3.0 patterns, among other initiatives.

Voxel bets on Xavier Albaladejo for its wide experience as an organizational transformation and cultural change consultant. Throughout his professional career, Albaladejo has worked at Mango, as well as other well-known companies such as AXA EMEA-LATAM, Vodafone R&D, Zurich and eDreams. In addition, he coordinates the ‘Agile Methods’ Master’s degree in La Salle University and he collaborates with ‘Agile Classes’ in other educational centres. He is a speaker in multiple conferences, writes in TransformacionAgil.org and ProyectosAgiles.org, he also founded Agile Spain and Agile Barcelona.

Since then, 6 Sociocracy meetups have been organised in Voxel. And, we are so proud with the results that we had no doubts in hosting new meetups for our Agile and Tech Community.

Last Tuesday 22nd of January, Voxel Group took a leading role in the media. On this occasion, Voxel appeared in the +innovation section in El Periódico, a well-known Spanish newspaper. Under the headline “Voxel Group, a competitive SME with a start-up soul”, journalist Montserrat Baldomà wrote an article based on an interview with Voxel Group CEO, Àngel Garrido, about the essence of the company.

Despite talking about Voxel’s history, the article is focused on the company’s growth during the last years. baVel, which is the main business line of Voxel, has grown a 22% last 2018. Globally, the Group turned over €11,3M and ended the financial year with 180 employees.

Without a doubt, if something makes Voxel special is its corporate culture. The values are an essential pillar of the enterprise. In fact, the group bases its philosophy on the Conscious Capitalism and its main purpose is creating happy business network.

Voxel Group has developed technological solutions for the travel industry and HORECA for 20 years. How it is applied in Voxel?

In Voxel, these methodologies and all its changes has been gradually applied by teams and experts. Currently, we can define ourselves as a company that uses Agile methodologies, specifically Scrum and Kanban. Specifically, we can experience these methodologies in the development team. But, we can also see them in the business team, operations and customer service team. The main purpose is to be aligned.

During 2018, Voxel started their quarter planning sessions, weekly sprints and retrospectives. We are also implementing crosswise teams that have a complete view on projects, and we have remodelled the offices to adapt the space to the new work methods. Even if these new methodologies have been applied recently, the Group is really satisfied with their first results. The benefits of the Agile model are obvious: better interdepartmental communication, team organisation and task prioritization, efficiency and focus. In short, a success!
