<p>With this, w<strong>e wanted to take a step forward towards raising awareness of the reality of the group</strong>, with the ultimate goal of promoting the inclusion of gender diversity and sexual orientation in the workplace.</p>
<p>At the round table, we were joined by four speakers with different sexual orientations and gender identities, and with different life and work experiences. <strong>Sandra Vilaseca</strong> is a transgender activist, a meat processor in the Bonpreu group and a<em> castellera</em>. <strong>Lluis Giménez</strong> is account manager at Voxel, was born in 1981 and is gay. <strong>Alaitz Blanquer</strong> is a former employee of Voxel, full-time entrepreneur and activist for the LGTBI+ collective. And finally,<strong> Jose Pires</strong>, a Voxel employee in the operations team and &#8220;<em>born gay</em>&#8220;.</p>
<p>During the round table, we went through the life cycle of each person. We learned about the key personal experiences that helped in their self-knowledge and were fundamental in their acceptance, but also that of the people around them. Finally, <strong>we delved into how to create diverse and inclusive work environments with a dynamic of normalisation, without falling into commodification.</strong></p>
<h4>The first stage: childhood</h4>
<p>All the speakers lived their childhood in the 80s and 90s. <strong>This was a time of uncertainty, misunderstanding and lack of reference points.</strong> A situation <em>&#8220;more pronounced in rural environments&#8221;</em>, as Jose pointed out.</p>
<p>In some cases, these doubts began to become clearer during adolescence, a stage marked by <strong>self-discovery through experiences in social circles</strong>. And also by the first revelations to people close to them such as family and friends.</p>

It also serves as a tool to make visible a group that fights for equal rights. <em>Knowledge and information about realities that are different from one&#8217;s own takes away confusion and, therefore, transforms hostility into empathy and curiosity.</em> &#8220;<em>In the long term, this translates into normalisation and therefore real inclusion, reaching the final objective,</em>&#8221; Lluís emphasised.</p>
<h4>Referents and collectives</h4>
<p><strong>Belonging to a group, or to the LGTBI+ collective, in this case, provides referents, support and understanding about realities and experiences shared among members.</strong> However, it is disconcerting and even shocking to see how within the group itself there is internal discrimination, governed by the same rules set by society.</p>
<p>In this sense, Sandra explained that <strong>gay men continue to be the patriarchal figure and maintain and reproduce gender roles from a position of dominance.</strong></p>
<p>Extrapolating this to other categories that could be grounds for discrimination in our society, we find a ladder of privilege within the collective. Thus, a trans, immigrant and racialised woman would occupy the last link on the ladder of social privileges and inclusion, as well as the first in terms of discrimination both in employment and in the other areas of her life.</p>
<h4>Sexual orientation in the workplace</h4>
<p>Can companies bring about social change? In Alaitz&#8217;s words, <em>&#8220;unconscious biases are the first wall to work with&#8221;</em>. One of the main conclusions at this point was that<strong> it is necessary to raise awareness inside and outside organisations to reduce the walls, as well as to use levers of change such as language.</strong></p>

<p>Nowadays, respect between people is no longer enough, but concrete measures are needed. <strong>Within organisations, cultural change has to come from the top, be conscious and real, avoiding the commercialisation of specific actions and opting for initiatives</strong> or projects that measure and objectify their impact in order to set new directions or give continuity to successful actions.</p>
<p>The round table discussed that the HR department and the steering committee have the responsibility to encourage and promote such actions. But it is also important that culture, values, diversity and real inclusion depend on each and every person in the organisation. <strong>It is all of us who are the agents of change, who create and live this internal culture and extend it to customers, suppliers and other new recruits.</strong></p>
<p>In conclusion, companies are no more than the sum of the people who make them up and therefore have a great responsibility for and with society.<strong> It is in the hands of all of us to raise awareness of the different realities, eliminate any source of discrimination and promote the normalisatio</strong>n and full inclusion of any group, no matter how small a minority it may be, as each person is different but equal in terms of rights.</p>
<p>Organa&#8217;s initiative was very well received and was well attended by all Voxel employees. The session gave rise to new concerns that will soon be addressed by the Organa Project.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.voxelgroup.net/blog/en/voxel-group-this-is-how-we-do-it/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">At Voxel, corporate values guide how we do things</a>. Concepts such as happiness, respect, empathy, honesty, solidarity, fun… These are all part of our DNA. Our organization model is based on <strong>respect and true equal opportunities for everyone</strong> regardless of differences that might lead to any kind of segregation.</p>
<p><strong>We are thus taking another step today in our commitment to diversity and inclusion by joining the Diversity Charter.</strong></p>
<h4><strong>What is the Diversity Charter?</strong></h4>
<p><a href="https://fundaciondiversidad.com/que-es-charter-diversidad/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Diversity Charter</a> is a European covenant of principles signed by businesses <strong>to show their commitment to diversity and inclusion at the workplace</strong>. Once you are part of the Charter, you agree to spread its message within and outside the company, involving workers, suppliers, clients… and to assume its principles:</p>

<p><strong>The Diversity Charter is a European initiative that has already gathered the commitment of over 12,000 companies.</strong></p>

<p>In addition, by applying the principles of the Diversity Charter, we are also contributing to the fulfilment of four <a href="https://www.un.org/sustainabledevelopment/sustainable-development-goals/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">UN Sustainable Development Goals</a>:</p>

<p>Catanet was the seedling for Voxel. It was a wine and cava e-Commerce platform that came before the market was ready, but that evolved into an electronic invoicing platform.</p>
<p>Over more than 20 years, <strong>the software tools developed by Voxel—baVel and DevoluIVA—have grown, adding new customers and suppliers to a network that today serves over 70,000 companies</strong>. Companies connected to exchange electronic documents, such as orders, delivery notes, invoices, payments&#8230; Thus streamlining back office processes, eliminating errors, generating cost savings, and ultimately improving the competitiveness of all our clients.</p>
<p><strong>Hand in hand with the growth of the business, there also came a cultural and organizational change that has undoubtedly marked Voxel</strong> since about 2017. In the midst of expansion, we realized that beyond our product and technology, there were certain characteristics that made us special as a team, and that differentiated us both in our day-to-day in-house activities, as well as in our relationship with customers and suppliers. And we got down to work!</p>
<p>The definition of our four corporate values—<strong>#PeopleFreaks</strong>, <strong>#ChallengeManiacs</strong>, <strong>#ChangeLovers</strong> and <strong>#FUNtasticTeamPlayers</strong>—also somehow <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MY-QrxbeHyc&amp;feature=emb_title" target="_blank" rel="noopener">defined the way we do things at Voxel</a>. Not only in relation to employees, but also in relation to suppliers, clients, partners and any stakeholder sharing the Voxel universe.</p>
<p>Voxel is not the same company now as it was 20 years ago. We have become a company committed to people. We mean to overcome one challenge after another and face change positively. We are a company that values group over individual and we know that together we will go further.</p>
<p>And after more than 20 years, <strong>we felt that the Voxel image was not projecting this identity</strong>.</p>

			<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Voxel Group has won the award “<strong>Innovative company in Conciliation and Time</strong>” of Barcelona in the category 51 to 250 employees. The awards event, supported by Barcelona’s Town Hall and the Nust network (a company network focused on new social uses of time in Barcelona) was held today, September 29, online. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The awards recognise companies that contribute to improving the personal and professional lives of its employees using work <strong>conciliation and healthy management of the working hours</strong>. The event is part of the Barcelona Time Deal, an agreement of the city to encourage more sustainable and fair time management. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This 8th edition emphasises the importance of proper management of the work time regarding the responsibility of the companies and the <strong>development of the digital era</strong>. Aspects that have been key points during the COVID-19 crisis. </span></p>
<h4><strong>Conciliation and digitalization </strong></h4>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The conciliation measures of Voxel Group go hand in hand with our culture and values ​​and have their origin in our ultimate goal as a company: to <a href="https://www.voxelgroup.net/en/about-us_en.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">create a happy business network</a>. Thereby, we work so that this philosophy contributes positively to our closest work environment. </span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">For the first time, and due to the exceptional situation, the event will be held online. Joan Manel Álvarez, Chief People Officer at Voxel Group, was responsible for taking the prize next to the rest of award-winning companies: Iterem, ACEFAT and Suara Cooperativa. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Barcelona Activa, Eurofund, UNED and Barcelona’s Town Hall participated in the event, which had more than 100 viewers. </span></p>

It is the <a href="https://www.voxelgroup.net/blog/en/voxel-group-is-the-best-travel-sector-company-to-work-in-spain-according-to-great-place-to-work/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">second year in a row</a> that the company participates in this world-renowned ranking and gets one of the highest positions. In the 2020 edition, Voxel has the third position, only behind Sas and Mundo Pharma, improving the fourth position of 2019.</p>
<p>The <strong>Best Workplaces</strong> recognized each year the best places to work in Spain, as well as the trust level employees demonstrate for their companies and best organizational culture practices of each company regarding the information of an anonymous survey to the employees. Furthermore, they analyse the human resources policies.</p>
<p>In particular, 9 out of 10 employees at Voxel think that their company is an excellent place to work and state to be proud of working at Voxel. The company works to become a space of personal and professional development where employees could be happy and with them, the clients and providers, providing a happy business network.</p>
<p>With this purpose, the company encourage innovative human resources policies and actions, including limitless teleworking, remote work and flexible time, which makes it easier to conciliate; tools to calculate the level of happiness at the workplace; life coaching benefits, sport or massages; continuous training of all the teams; fun and personal growth activities… Furthermore, and thanks to an internal transformation process based on the Scaling Up method and agile methodologies, Voxel has a flat and highly sociocratic organisation, organized with decision circles and multifunctional teams that count with a high level of autonomy and are able to develop a project from the start to the end.</p>
<p>The audit revealed that the eNPS at Voxel, which are at a 67, it is a positive reference taking into account that companies such as Facebook, Aphabet or Amazon has a punctuation of 54, 42 and 1, respectively. The employee Net Promoter Score is a standard indicator that measures the probability of an employee to recommend their organisation and provides information about satisfaction and engagement.</p>
<p>This year, the Best Workplaces 2020 awards have been broadcasted on streaming. At Voxel, more than 50 employees have found out the company’s position following the live awards.</p>

			<p><span style="font-weight: 400;"><strong>Voxel has been nominated next to HappyForce</strong> for the Comprendedor Awards in the SME category. The prizes granted by the </span><a href="https://www.empresaysociedad.org/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Fundación Empresa y Sociedad</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"><strong> recognise the best client-supplier collaborations between companies and B2B scaleups</strong>. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">On this 6th edition, there are 5 awards’ categories: marketing and sales, human resources, operations and processes, industry 4.0 and SMEs. In this last category, the foundation rewards the most innovative solutions for companies created by B2B scaleups. Voxel and HappyForce are nominated next to Fridec Solutions and October, Iristrace and Oh my Cut!</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The purpose of these awards has two sides. On one hand, they want to offer greater visibility to open innovation programs of companies that come from scaleups and on the other hand, contribute to raising the clients for these scaleups. </span></p>
<h4><b>Voxel and HappyForce</b></h4>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">On September 2018, Voxel started using HappyForce as an internal communication tool to collect honest feedback in real-time and to measure the company’s happiness level (known as Happiness Index). </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Via the app, employees can express anonymously those topics that motivate or concern them, share new ideas or show their gratitude to a colleague. This way, the company know the real mood of its employees and can work on new initiatives and solutions for those topics that most concerned them. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Since HappyForce was implemented at Voxel, 92% of employees have installed the app and from those, <strong>85% have participated at least once</strong>. This last percentage is <strong>25 points over the average of companies</strong> that are using the app.  </span></p>
<h4><b>Awards ceremony</b></h4>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;"> </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">The awards ceremony for the Comprendedor 2019 Awards will be held on November 19th, at the Auditorium of the Bankia Tower, in Madrid. During the ceremony, they will announce the winners for each one of the categories. </span></p>

			<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Last week, with the last three new hires, <strong>we have reached 200 employees at Voxel</strong>. We are so happy with it and we would like to share this moment with all of you! </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">We still remember when Voxel was based in a small porter’s lodge and we were only 6 of us. Nowadays, the company has employees from 29 different nationalities, mainly based in Barcelona and Santo Domingo. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">For more than 20 years, Voxel has offered transactional solutions and has become one of the leading e-invoicing and B2B electronic payment platforms for the travel industry. However, we think that <strong>the key to our success is not </strong></span><strong><i>what </i>we do, but <a href="https://www.voxelgroup.net/blog/voxel-group-this-is-how-we-do-it/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><i>how </i></a></strong><span style="font-weight: 400;"><strong>we do it.</strong> </span></p>

			<p>Xavier Ginesta, President at Voxel Group, is the new Managing Director at <a href="https://capitalismoconsciente.es" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><em>Capitalismo Consciente</em> Foundation</a>, the Barcelona Chapter of the global movement Conscious Capitalism. Ginesta has replaced the former Director Sebastian Ross, who was in charge of the Fundation since its creation in 2016.</p>
<p>Conscious Capitalism is an international movement created by Raj Sisodia and John Makcey that wants to <strong>flourish confidence, compassion, and collaboration and add value to the fundamentals of Capitalism</strong> – voluntary exchange, entrepreneurship, competition, freedom to trade and the rule of law. According to the Conscious Capitalism Credo, “conscious businesses have cultures built in trust and innovation and are authentic and affectionate. They are a source of personal growth for their employees and they endeavor to create financial, intellectual, social, cultural, emotional, spiritual, physical and ecological wealth for all their stakeholders”.</p>
<p>At the moment, the Chapter of Barcelona is formed with more than 80 business owners, such as Holaluz, Habitissimo, Cyberclick, Conversia, Aladina, HappyForce, HP, Valkiria, InboundCycle or ESADE. <strong>The common objective is to divulge this movement in the corporate environment and spread it across the Spanish society</strong>.</p>
<p>“<em>My main purpose as director of the Foundation is to create a community of 5,000 associates and get funds to increase our impact</em>”, explains Xavier Ginesta. “<em>In the long term, we want the Foundation to be sustainable and present not only in Barcelona but also in Spain and Europe</em>”, concludes.</p>
<p>Xavier Ginesta is also President at Voxel Group; company specialized in electronic invoicing transactions and B2B payments leader in the travel sector. Voxel Group’s corporate culture is based on Conscious Capitalism, and its main purpose as a company is to create a happy business network. Ginesta has been encouraging this movement inside and outside the company.</p>
