In an ever more digitalized environment, it is essential that the relationships between supplier companies and hotels to also make progress in terms of automation.<\/span><\/h2>\n

In this blog post we reflect on some of the concepts covered in the <\/span>conference called \u201cDigitalize the relationship with suppliers\u201d that was held within the HIP<\/a> framework<\/b>. The session <\/span>moderated by Federico Fritzsch Ingl\u00e9s<\/b> (CEO of G-Stock), included the participation of <\/span>Carlos Espejo Nieto<\/b> (CTO of Harbest), <\/span>Fernando L\u00f3pez Hermida<\/b> (CEO of La Mucca), <\/span>Marc Ma\u00f1as de Khuen <\/b>(Chief Product Officer of Voxel) and <\/span>V\u00edctor P\u00e9rez Mart\u00edn<\/b> (CEO of Adiss).<\/span><\/p>\n

The importance of automating back-office processes<\/b><\/h4>\n

In the hotel sector<\/b>, which is in general characterized for having relatively tight margins, <\/span>it is important to implement processes that allow avoiding errors and becoming more agile<\/b>. Thus, Fernando explains that even though 40% of the supplies of their restaurants go through their central procurement office, they must work with nearly 270 suppliers, and the business relationships with them need to be managed.<\/span><\/p>\n

The automation of back-office processes <\/b><\/a>such as the issuance and accounting of purchase orders, delivery notes and invoices <\/span>can contribute to maximizing the efficiency of these processes<\/b>. Additionally, it can facilitate and strengthen the relationship with suppliers.<\/span><\/p>\n

The technological aptitude of suppliers<\/b><\/h4>\n

For the hotel and restaurant sectors, <\/span>the degree to which suppliers have adopted technology is an added value<\/b> that is increasingly gaining more weight. \u201cBeyond the quality of the product, the price and services, the degree of digitalization of the supplier <\/span>may be a determining factor when it comes time to their selection\u201d, says Federico<\/b>. Fernando corroborates this argument: \u201cWe need to find suppliers that can send us supplies in a manner that is automated, processed and simple\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

Likewise, <\/span>Marc adds that <\/b>\u201cfor companies accustomed to collaborating with suppliers that have more automated processes, <\/span>it may be a challenge and an operational setback to work with suppliers that are less immersed in digitalization<\/b>\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

Status of the digitalization between supplier companies, hotels and management platforms<\/b><\/h4>\n

In the hospitality sector, <\/span>the front-office<\/b> (areas that interact with the customer) <\/span>has experienced a greater digitalization than the back-office<\/b> (areas that do not interact directly with consumers).<\/span><\/p>\n

Marc believes that \u201cthe need to work in a more digitalized manner <\/b>in the hotel and restaurant sector <\/span>promotes the fact that many of these companies already have workers or even departments that are technology experts<\/b>\u201d. And everything seems to indicate that this trend will continue growing.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"HIP<\/span><\/p>\n

As stated by <\/span>Carlos \u201cIt is important to set standards for everyone: suppliers and management platforms to help make the job of hoteliers easier<\/b>\u201d. <\/span>V\u00edctor is convinced that<\/b> \u201cWe are undergoing a period of digital transformation. Not only do we have the obligation, <\/span>we are going to be forced to make this transition to a data model where all applications are connected<\/b>. When this occurs the implementation costs will be reduced and will no longer pose a problem, and we will compete for the best product\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

The speakers agree on the fact that there is still much work to do by all sectors<\/b>. However, Fernando says that \u201cthe restaurant business is the last link. We are the ones who interact directly with customers and this is what we must focus on\u201d.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The adopting of technological solutions<\/b> and the automation of processes not only streamline tasks, but also <\/span>generate efficiency, improve communication and promote the growth of the businesses<\/b>. It is crucial for the hotel and restaurant sector to adapt to new market demands and take advantage of the opportunities provided by technology. <\/span>\u201cWe need to work the \u2018coopetence\u2019 concept; in other words, cooperate with competitors\u201d concludes Fernando<\/b>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
