And <\/span><b>Estonia, <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/e-estonia.com\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the most advanced country in digital society,<\/span><\/a><b> doesn\u2019t want to fall behind<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. From July 1st 2019, Estonia will implement the obligatory of electronic B2G invoicing. In other words, the billing process between companies and the Estonian government. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to the European Directive 2014\/55\/EU on electronic invoicing, all European public administrations must be prepared to receive and process electronic invoices that comply with European standards (the EN 16931-1 format), <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voxelgroup.net\/blog\/en\/bavel-presents-the-panorama-of-the-electronic-invoice-in-europe-the-definitive-online-guide-to-european-legislation-on-electronic-invoicing\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">since April 2019<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. However, <\/span><b>Estonia has made obligatory issuing electronic invoices to the public sector<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Estonian Tax Authority, the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Center of Registers and Information Systems (RIK, in Estonian) will maintain their electronic billing system, <\/span><b>e-Financials<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, to issue and receive e-invoices from public authorities. With this initiative, Estonia joins the majority of European countries to legislate in electronic billing. <\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>Legislative updates <\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Being aware of the most recent legislative updates in electronic invoicing is key for businesses in the travel industry, as a big chain hotel can process around 3 to 6 million invoices per year.
