{"id":9493,"date":"2021-03-22T09:33:24","date_gmt":"2021-03-22T08:33:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.voxelgroup.net\/blog\/?p=9493"},"modified":"2021-04-21T08:13:23","modified_gmt":"2021-04-21T07:13:23","slug":"portugal-to-accept-pdf-as-electronic-invoice-until-june","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.voxelgroup.net\/blog\/en\/portugal-to-accept-pdf-as-electronic-invoice-until-june\/","title":{"rendered":"Portugal to accept PDF as electronic invoice until June"},"content":{"rendered":"<span class=\"span-reading-time rt-reading-time\" style=\"display: block;\"><span class=\"rt-label rt-prefix\">Tiempo de lectura:<\/span> <span class=\"rt-time\"> 2<\/span> <span class=\"rt-label rt-postfix\">minutos<\/span><\/span><h2><strong>Companies will have 3 more months to change the electronic invoice format<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Portugal is in the midst of the transition to electronic invoicing<\/strong>, but the pandemic crisis has forced the country to change its plans on the fly. <strong>The Portuguese government has had to postpone e-invoicing obligations on several occasions.<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voxelgroup.net\/blog\/en\/portugal-progresses-in-electronic-invoicing-as-it-becomes-mandatory-in-the-b2g-environment\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">First came the introduction of e-invoicing in the B2G environment.<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voxelgroup.net\/blog\/en\/portugal-delays-entry-into-force-of-qr-code-on-invoices\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Then there was the delay of the inclusion of the ATCUD and QR code in fiscal documents.<\/a> Now, <strong>the Portuguese government is giving companies more leeway to continue using PDF as an accepted electronic invoice format.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Thus, according to rule number 72\/2021-XXII, <strong>a PDF invoice will continue to be considered electronic until 30 June 2021.<\/strong> After that date, PDFs will no longer be fiscally valid documents and companies working with electronic invoices will have to use structured documents.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>The electronic invoicing calendar in Portugal<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Following the changes made by the Portuguese government over the last 12 months in relation to electronic invoicing, the key dates in this area are as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>1 July 2021:<\/strong> B2G e-invoicing mandatory for SMEs. PDF invoices are no longer considered electronic invoices.<\/li>\n<li><strong>1 January 2022:<\/strong> B2G e-invoicing mandatory for micro-enterprises.<\/li>\n<li><strong>1 January 2022:<\/strong> ATCUD mandatory for all invoices.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>From PDF to electronic invoicing<\/h4>\n<p>At Voxel we have noticed that <strong>many companies that regularly use electronic invoicing still have to deal with PDF invoices.<\/strong> That is why we have designed a new product capable of digitizing 100% of invoices.<\/p>\n<p><strong>baVel PDFbilling is able to digitise all invoices received by any company regardless of their origin (EDI, email, post&#8230;) or format (xml, pdf, paper&#8230;).<\/strong> The operation is very simple: we integrate all PDF invoices into the baVel input channel and convert them into structured files in order to digitally manage all invoices received through a single platform.
