Greece has been no exception. The Greek government had planned for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voxelgroup.net\/blog\/en\/greece-last-minute-change-for-the-implementation-of-the-tax-platform-mydata\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the MyData tax platform to come into force on a mandatory basis in 2020. It had to postpone it until April 2021.<\/a> <strong>And finally, the Ministry of Finance together with IAPR, the tax authority, had to postpone again<\/strong> this obligation due to the current situation caused by Covid-19.<\/p>\n<p>Now,<strong> the obligation to use MyData will start on 1 July 2021.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h4>MyData: What do you need to know?<\/h4>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.aade.gr\/mydata\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MyData<\/a> is the <strong>platform through which companies communicate electronically and in real-time with the IAPR.<\/strong> Businesses must report information in relation to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Invoices and retail receipts.<\/li>\n<li>Classification of income and expenses<\/li>\n<li>Additional data not related to invoices, e.g. payroll, depreciation and amortisation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Greek companies can communicate with the platform in different ways:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Through a <strong>web portal<\/strong>. Specially designed for small companies that want to report data manually.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Online cash registers.<\/strong> Companies will have to report daily receipts from sales to end customers.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Integrated communication<\/strong> with ERP or similar software.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Certified service provider<\/strong>. Companies may also choose to connect with a provider and avoid having to develop direct integration with MyData.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>According to official sources, the introduction of the MyData platform has three main objectives:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To digitise and automate processes related to tax compliance.<\/li>\n<li>To increase transparency and traceability.<\/li>\n<li>Optimise and harmonise the relationship between the tax administration and companies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Finally, it is important to note that, although mandatory reporting to MyData comes into force in July, <strong>companies will have to report all transactions for the first half of 2021.
