The 6th edition of the baVel Travel Summit has started this morning in Barcelona. More than 200 international professionals of the travel industry have gathered at a consolidated event in the sector which is organized every year by Voxel Group, a company specialized in electronic invoicing and payments.

The first panel has confronted the eternal discrepancy between the sales and finance teams with representatives of both sides from Melià and New World Travel. We have discussed how technology can help aligning strategies: “there is a tendency to go towards pre-payment methods  and flexible rates” said Melià.

CEO at Voxel Group, Àngel Garrido, moderated a panel about trends in Billing and Electronic Payments in the travel sector where representatives of MTS, Kuoni and Booking.com participated. The panel focused on how technology and legal frameworks of each country are redefining the industry and contributing to enable streamlined instant electronic payments.

B2B payments have also been the main topic of Ingenico, eNett and Kantox’ speech, also sponsors of the event.

    Sociocratic, agile and cutomer-centric companies

VP Experience & Quality at NH Hotels Group, Javier Mármol, has explained the process through which the hotel group is modifying all its services based on clients feedback. In fact, some NH hotels have a full automatic check-in process and according to Mármol “on this matter, there is still a long way to go, such as artificial intelligence, for example”.

A process which Voxel Group is also doing. In fact, CIO at Voxel Group, Adrian Perreau, has exposed in a dynamic session the organizational change in which Voxel Group has been immersed for the last two years. A change that has allowed the company to improve its internal processes, has put the customer at the center of everything it does (customer centricity) and has increased the productivity of all its teams using Agile methodologies and Sociocracy 3.0; and which is already part of the business culture of the company. “This type of methodologies also help to get loyal employees and retain talent within companies.”

The second day of the baVel Travel Summit 2019 will focus mainly on the future of B2B payments in the travel industry and will host, among others, a panel with three leading international companies: Mastercard, VISA and Barclaycard. Tomorrow, the second edition of the Voxel Awards will be held and on Friday, Voxel Group will close the event with a day of workshops dedicated to all its customers.
