Main features of electronic invoicing in France
France’s e-invoicing system involves four actors: the supplier, the customer, the technology providers (Plateformes de Dématérialisation Partenaire, in French) and the government.
The Plateformes de Dématérialisation Partenaire (PDP) take on a leading role as they are responsible for distributing the e-invoice to the B2B customer and reporting to the government. Each company must be connected to a PDP.
The public invoicing platform (PPF) focuses exclusively on managing the central directory that identifies companies.
The French system is designed to fight tax fraud and to improve and ensure timely payments.
