The Crea y Crece Law established a mandate to create a Spanish electronic invoicing system. The Royal Decree that regulates the use of mandatory electronic invoicing in transactions between companies in Spain states that, from 2025, Spanish companies will have to exchange e-invoices with each other on a mandatory basis. Main features of the Spanish electronic invoicing system
Companies must exchange invoices electronically through private electronic invoice exchange platforms (PIFE for its acronym in Spanish), such as Voxel.
The PIFE will need to send a copy of each invoice to a public platform.
Companies must also report on the status of invoices.
