In its 2025/26 budget, Botswana’s government announced plans to implement a mandatory electronic invoicing (e-invoicing)
An e-billing pilot has been underway for three years and is scheduled to conclude by March 2025.
Following the pilot, a two-year nationwide rollout is planned to upgrade infrastructure and connectivity, with the e-invoicing system expected to be fully operational by March 2026.
