Reporting and processes
Reporting
This country has no reporting obligations.
Processes
- Secure Storage: Before sending e-invoices, businesses must ensure data accuracy, security, and integrity by storing it in a reliable system.
- Record Keeping: Companies must keep documents that explain how transactions are processed and managed.
- Standard Format: Invoices must use a data format compatible with CRA audit software.
- Backups Required: Businesses must store backup copies of their invoices.
In Quebec, businesses like restaurants and bars must use a Sales Recording Module (SRM) connected to their Point-of-Sale (POS) system. This device:
- Records every sale and sends transaction details to Revenue Quebec.
- Prints receipts with a unique barcode, certifying accuracy and proper record-keeping
