Currently e-invoicing is allowed in a voluntary way. However, the Government has announced the imposition of mandatory E-invoicing. All taxable persons in Senegal will be subject to the obligation to send and receive electronic invoices.

Currently there is Draft legislation that does not include many details, the official timeline for mandatory e-invoicing is yet to be announced, however once it is stablished, the government has announced that there will be penalties for non compliance: failure to issue, transmit, or receive e-invoices may result in a fine equivalent to 25% of the VAT which should have been invoiced electronically, capped at XOF 5 million (ca. EUR 7700) per invoice.
