Reporting and processes
GST: Good and services tax
GST-registered businesses will be required to use InvoiceNow solutions to send invoice data to IRAS for tax administration.
Invoices that are not issued using InvoiceNow (e.g. for sales made via point-of-sale systems) should also be recorded in
InvoiceNow solutions and sent to IRAS.
To support the national InvoiceNow initiative, GSTregistered companies must use InvoiceNow solutions to submit invoice data to IRAS for tax administration. Invoices that are not issued through InvoiceNow (e.g., for sales made through point-of-sale systems) must also be registered in InvoiceNow solutions and submitted to IRAS.
InvoiceNow solutions will connect to IRAS via Access Point (AP). This connection will enable the transmission of invoice data to IRAS through application programming interface (API) technology. When companies enable the feature to transmit invoice data to IRAS, IRAS will receive a copy of the invoice data whenever companies issue or receive invoices through the InvoiceNow network, or when they register other invoices on the InvoiceNow solutions.
Upcoming legislative changes
UpcomingGST-registered companies should use the InvoiceNow platform to transmit invoice data directly to the tax administration.
This implementation will be carried out gradually, in several phases:
As of May 1, 2025: Any existing GST-registered company wishing to be an early adopter will be allowed to transmit invoice data to IRAS using InvoiceNow solutions.
As of November 1, 2025: newly incorporated companies that register for GST on a voluntary basis. These are companies that join within 6 months of submitting their application for GST registration.
As of April 1, 2026: for all new GST registrants on a voluntary basis.
